In my experience I have met thousands of people now, and below are the most common questions I have been asked over the past 20-odd years of going out dressed, from people who may want to know more about you as a Cross-Dresser.
So it may be worth asking yourself these questions in preparation for any intrigued people you may meet:
1: Are you gay?
2: Why do you wear women’s clothes?
3: When you’re dressed as a woman, do you fancy men or women? Do you do it to attract men?
These first 3 are all around a common theme. Most people seem to need to be able to put others in a ‘box’ of some sort, in order to satisfy their rational ‘conscious’ mind. And it’s still true that there is a massive lack of understanding about the reason why we dress – I still don’t have a definitive answer, and most of the T-Girls I know don’t either!
4: Are you married? Do you have children?
5: Do your wife/ family/ friends/ work colleagues know? If so, do they support you?
6: How long have you been dressing/ how old where you when you first thought about dressing in women’s clothes?
7: Would you like to be a woman?
8: Are you going to have a sex-change operation?
9: Do you take hormones to grow boobs? How do you get a cleavage like THAT?!
10: How long does it take you to do your make-up and get ready?
11: Do you do your own make-up or do you go somewhere for help with it? (NB: Femesque REALLY can help, even if you’ve been doing your own for years!)
12: How often do you dress? Do you dress like that every day?
13: Are you any different when you’re dressed – do you feel any different?
14: Do you have a different name when you’re dressed as a woman? How/ why did you decide on that name?
15: Where do you get all your clothes from? (NB again: Femesque offers a great Dressing Service to help create your own look, unique to each client)
16: When you buy things how do you pay for them? Do you have a separate bank account or credit card for your female character?
17: Where do you keep all your clothes?
18: When you go out, where do you go? Is it mainly during the day, or at night? Do you feel safe when you go out?
19: Which toilets do you use when you go out dressed as a woman (Ladies/ Gents/ Disabled)?
20: What sort of help and support have you had, or can you get, when you dress?
And here’s a couple of bonus questions that you may be asked if they feel really brave!
21: How do you create a smooth profile ‘down below’ when you wear tight clothes? Or, more likely “What do you do with your Willy to hide the bump?!”
22: “Yeuk, does THAT hurt?!”
