A Student of the Gentler Sex

I don’t know about you but if you’re anything like me you’re on a constant learning curve as far as the opposite sex goes. I’ve been told that I’m quite perceptive amongst other people but all I do is keep my eyes and ears open to be able to learn how ‘the other half’ lives!

And it’s purely selfish. I like to see how I can refine my image and become more natural when I’m in female mode, to be able to ‘pass’ more easily, without the need for deportment lessons and those obvious over-the-top diva mannerisms that are so false.

If you trawl online for tips on Female Body Language you’re likely to come across numerous sites on ‘how to look out for the signals that tell you whether she fancies you or not’! I’m not advocating copying these body movements when you’re dressed because you may be sending out the wrong signals to whoever may be watching (unless this is what you actually want to achieve – who am I to judge?!). These include the following:

  •  The Head/ Hair Toss
  • The Lip Nibble/ Lick
  • The Hair Flick (no I don’t mean Herr Flik, for all you ‘Allo ‘Allo fans!)
  • The Head Tilt and Smile
  • The Neck Stroking
  • The Knee Pointing
  • Object Stroking
  • Self Stroking/ Touching
  • The Shoe Dangle

 And last but not least…..

  •  Sitting with your legs open!!!!! This says you’re either open for sex or you really don’t observe how real females sit! Good girls are taught from an early age to sit with their knees together!

Apparently in social situations 80% of people are looking for others who are similar to themselves and seek security, reassurance and reinforcement in their meetings with others (who comes up with these figures?!!). In simple terms I quite like the quote:

“People like people who are like themselves”

 Here are some simple observations:

  •  Probably to compensate for the difference in body weight distribution in females compared to males (!), girls seem to walk with their shoulders back and chests ‘up’. Lots of guys slouch when walking so try this and see how it changes your posture.
  • If you’ve ever worn a corset you will know how this changes your whole demeanour – once you’ve become used to the experience and learnt to breathe again! Not only does a corset create an amazing shape but you HAVE to behave in a whole new way eg sitting up straight with knees together and shoulders back, AND getting in and out of cars more elegantly than usual!
  •  Behind the wheel of a car, girls tend to hold the steering wheel at ‘ten-to-two’ or ‘five-to-one’ rather than leaning your right elbow on the window sill.
  •  And on the subject of driving, PLEASE refrain from picking your nose at traffic lights – this is a typical male trait and a dead giveaway!! If you are self-conscious while waiting at the lights, why not pull your sun visor down and check your makeup (but remember not to get carried away, keep your eyes peeled for when the lights change or when there’s a Police car nearby!)?
  •  If you ever walk behind a girl, notice the way she flicks her heels in every time she takes a step forward. Look carefully as it is hardly discernible. Probably something to do with the hips, and guys generally don’t do this. Again, try this yourself, and see what the effect is. Try not to accentuate this too much tho’ because people will think you need to go to the loo!
  •  Hand movements are more expressive in the female, this is well documented. But I also find I rest my hand on my hips more when I’m standing still when out dressed.
  •  When girls are waiting in queues, at bus-stops, or waiting to cross the road, quite a few place one foot behind the heel of their other leg in a very relaxed manner. I find this helps to look quite convincing in a nonchalant sort of way.
  •  If you have long hair which you hang down both sides of your face (probably trying to hide your jawline if you’re anything like me!), try pulling one side behind your neck so that it all hangs down one side only. I tried this a few weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised with the effect!

The girls at Femesque will help you with any issues you may have in a very supportive way for your everyday life. And if you ever sign up for a photo-shoot you may feel that you’re being asked to stand in very unnatural positions, but trust me, the results will be worth it!

If you have any observations of your own that you’d like to share, then please add your Comments for the benefit of other readers.

 Many thanks and Happy Days

 Best wishes

Kathy xx
